Dr Joshua Rasera

Research Associate
Postdoctoral ResearcherMineral processing engineer and Research Associate at Imperial College London, working on dry mineral processing technologies for both terrestrial applications and lunar in-situ resource utilisation. His research spans dry beneficiation, particle segregation, electrostatic separation, dust processing and the development of mineral processing systems for the Moon. He is also Principal Advisor for Space & Terrestrial Processing at Space RS and previously worked as a lunar mineral processing engineer at ispace Europe. He holds a PhD in Mineral Processing Engineering from Imperial College London, an MSc in Space Studies from the International Space University, and MASc and BASc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has published widely on lunar resource processing, electrostatic separation and granular segregation, and has contributed to research supported by NASA, ESA, Horizon Europe, the Luxembourg National Research Fund and NSERC. He teaches Space Mining at Imperial College London, supervises research across mineral processing and lunar resources, and serves as Co-Chair of the ISRU UK Representative Group.
