This accessibility statement applies to the Strategic Engineering Laboratory research hub.

This website is run by the Strategic Engineering Laboratory at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech-recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible this website is

We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard throughout. We know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:

  • some images are placeholders and do not yet have a meaningful text alternative

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some images are decorative or placeholder graphics and do not yet carry a text alternative that conveys equivalent information. This can fail WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). We plan to add appropriate text alternatives as final imagery is published, and new content will meet accessibility standards when added.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Some PDFs and other documents published before 23 September 2018 may not be fully accessible. Any new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards. Third-party content, such as external staff-profile and partner websites, is outside the scope of this statement.
